Susan Wake, Folk Artist & Fine Folk Artist of the Finger Lakes
Contemporary & Memory Inspired Art by Finger Lakes Artist Susan Wake
Susan Wake's Weekend Gallery
Other creations include miniature sculpture of the natural world. Here Susan Wake is painting a sculpture of a wild turkey native to Western New York.
"When I started painting about twelve years ago, I utilized acrylic paint on wood. If I did not like the results, I thought I would toss it in the wood stove and that would be the end of it.
My husband discovered what I was doing with the firewood and suggested I enter a local competition. I humored him and entered five pieces, winning first and second in two categories. This was four months after painting my first piece."
Another special niche is Susan Wake's hand painted folk art of birds, wildlife and her rural landscapes of
Western New York.
Collectors enjoy the charm and personality of each piece and frequently check to see what is new in "Whoville."
